2 litters of 5 kittens each who came into a rural Kentucky shelter without their mom. One litter was only 3-4 weeks old at the time and were very neglected, malnourished and full of fleas and parasites. They went to the vet for treatment and stayed for about 10 days to get healthy enough to go to a foster home where they have stayed another 10 days (2 of their siblings passed away while being treated). They are finally healthy enough to travel at 8 weeks old. The second litter of 5 kittens came from the same rural KY shelter but were healthier. They too went to the vet for worming and general examinations and first shot. The state of abandoned cats and kittens in Kentucky is dire. Shelters must often kill 30-80 cats at a time due to the numbers coming in the shelters. So we are always pleased to give cats and kittens the chance to find happy homes through our transports.
