Have always been an animal lover. Grew up living in the country with all kinds of animals. Any pets we have had have been rescues. After losing our beloved rescue husky after 16 yrs. together, we adopted a rescue this last year. As with my husky, I am now working to become a pet assisted therapy team with my Irish Jack Russell. We belong to W.A.G.S. Pet Therapy of Louisville. I previously was a member of Alley Cats which was a spay/neuter organization helping to spay/neuter feral cats and returning them to their habitats. I have recently retired and am looking to help make a difference in the lives of animals in need. I found this organization through VolunteerMatch online. I've read of groups that have done this kind of rescuing and was interested in seeing if I could help. I have a small SUV and have used it to haul my husky to pet therapy visits and thought with SUV will travel if it helps even one animal in need of rescuing.
