I volunteered with Friends of Animals in Utah. I have been a pet parent all of my life, from small dogs to large dogs, cats and a parrot. I helped establish a riding facility with a trainer to get kids involved with horses. I used to own Malamutes and worked with a trainer to train and show them. I transported to shows. They were never kenneled, always lived in my house or stayed with me in hotel. I had to take a 6 month old puppy who had respiratory issues from Utah to Colorado University Pet hospital. Stopping every hour, or sooner, to check on him, keep him comfortable, give him water and medication if necessary. I kept the hospital informed of my arrival time and condition of my sweet puppy. They were waiting for me at the entrance with a stretcher and gave him excellent care. When I moved back to California, after getting settled, I immediately started looking for organizations looking for volunteers. Signed up for a volunteer site but I can not find too many in my location here in the Ventura County. I want to work with the animals and do what ever I can to help make sure they find their forever home or at least a safe place until they find their forever home. I am very open to helping in any way that makes a different for any animal that needs help.
