I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice and I work part-time. (One of the areas I specialize in is counseling for pet loss). My husband recently retired. We had always talked about volunteering for transport work when he retired so now we are trying to do it. We can't think of a better way to spend some of our time in retirement. We both love driving and have excellent driving records. We are available on a regular basis depending on our schedules for any given week. Five years ago, one of our dogs was transported from CA and that made us even more excited to volunteer I have loved animals all of my life. We have had many pets over the years including small animals, cats and dogs. We donate to animal organizations and I foster 2 elephants through The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (elephants are my other love). For 8 years I ran a yearly event called Puppy Mill Awareness Day to raise awareness about puppy mills and our daughter worked at our local animal shelter for 10 years so we were connected to many animal events through that as well. Any small way we can help animals find forever homes would be our joy and pleasure.
