Valentina was struck by a vehicle fracturing her right hind leg, it's being treated with a splint and crate rest. She is a young dog and should make a full recovery.
She was picked up by AC and placed in the shelter for 3 days without medical care. We pulled her and had her taken directly to our veterinarian in the area where they treated her and administered vaccines and labs.
As if life isn't tough enough, the poor girl tested light positive for Heartworm disease. The good news is it was caught early, she is young and should come through the treatment like a champ.
Valentina is a very sweet temperamented dog, never met a stranger, who needs crate rest for the leg and heartworm treatment.
She is housetrained and does not mess in her kennel at all even up to 10 hours wait time. She will need to be leashed walked to potty.
If you live within 60 miles of Plainfield, IL and can provide a safe, caring environment, plus transport her to the vet for bandage changes, we would love to hear from you.
Valentina is also available to foster to adopt.
