Stover Animal Rescue, Inc

Stover Animal Rescue is a small rural public charity 501(c)3 tax exempt non-profit and no-kill dog and cat rescue in central Missouri.  Animals are ONLY euthanized if their mental and physical condition cannot be returned to a reasonable quality of life - as determined by one or more qualified veterinarians.    We are staffed and managed totally by volunteers – so all donations go directly to the care of animals.   Funded totally by voluntary donations, our thrift store, and grants – we receive no city, state or federal government funding.

Our primary mission is to temporarily provide quality medical treatment, daily care, and behavior rehabilitation to local needy cats and dogs until suitable permanent homes can be found.  We also promote and support efforts to improve quality of life for animals in our local community, those served by regional advocacy groups, and those animals needing aid through worldwide rescue operations.  In addition to rehoming of local neglected and abandoned dogs and cats, and  in order to help keep beloved pets in their homes and reduce the strain on rescues –  we also provide local outreach services such as pet food and supplies, outdoor shelters, and essential medical care like spay/neuter, vaccines, and emergency treatment as we are able.

We promote volunteering as a major benefit to both volunteers and the animals receiving their care.  A rescue sanctuary expansion is currently being planned and designed.

 It is our intent to meet and exceed all regulations and guidelines applicable to our nonprofit rescue organization, to constantly improve and expand the animal welfare services we provide, to abide by fiscally responsible and growth oriented business practices, and to engage in appropriate fundraising efforts in order to remain financially solvent.
