About The Little Red Dog, Inc.
On a Mission from Dog:
Dogs are man's best friend, but it is not always the other way around. Inspired by the dogs rescued from the Michael Vick dog-fighting ring, The Little Red Dog was born. If you are not familiar with the Michael Vick dog fighting case chronicled in The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs and Their Tale of Rescue and Redemption, the little red dog was brutally beaten to death by Vick and his cousin, all because she didn’t want to fight.
We do not discriminate against ANY breed. We rescue all breeds and colors, from high kill shelters and find them loving forever homes. We are the biggest Pitbull rescue in Orange County. We also take seniors, dogs with medical issues, pregnant dogs and nursing moms. We also take in strays and owner surrenders and help the community by assisting owners with training and vet care and offering spay/neuter, microchip and vaccination clinics.
Since our inception in October 2011, we have saved and placed over 4,000 animals! We hope one day all dogs and cats will make it out of the shelter system and find loving homes, and there will be no more dog fighting, and no more abuse, or cruelty, but we will never forget The Little Red Dog, or the other companion animals that did not make it out alive. We are on a mission from Dog. Are you on a mission?
The Little Red Dog is on a mission from dog to save dogs including Pitbull dogs, senior dogs, and dogs with medical conditions, pregnant dogs, and nursing moms. Since our inception in October 2011, we have saved over 3000 dogs of all breeds! The Little Red Dog (TLRD) makes an impact in the local community by saving dogs from high kill shelters in California and beyond, and finding them loving, forever homes. We also assist local dog owners who either need to surrender their dogs, or need help with medical care, or training so they can keep their dogs. Additionally, we hold spay and neuter clinics to prevent unwanted pregnancies that lead to millions of companion animals being euthanized each year.
We do not discriminate against ANY breed. We rescue all breeds and colors, from high kill shelters and find them loving forever homes, however we are the biggest Pitbull rescue in Orange County, meaning we save and rehome more dogs of this underserved breed than anyone else. We also educate the public on dog behavior to ensure that both people and dogs lead safe, happy, and healthy lives. Dogs are amazing with their power of forgiveness and healing, and we are humbled we get to save so many.
We are on a mission from dog…are you on a mission?
