Hinsdale Humane Society

About Hinsdale Humane Society
HHS is a 501(c)3 organization located in the western suburbs of Chicago. We have been in business for more than 65 years and transfer in cats and dogs when space is available. We are a private organization, therefore receive no government funding.
Please see the guidelines for working with our organization below.
We follow all laws of the State of Illinois for transferring animals into the state in terms of required documentation. We do not have any breed or medical restrictions; however, we also manage our population as to not have a disproportionate number of any one breed or animals requiring extensive medical resources. (an example is that we accept HW+ dogs, but we must limit the number we can take in at any one time). We don't require vaccinations, tests or spay/neuter, but "surprises" when a transport arrives is problematic. We can't accept animals who are known to be too aggressive to safely adopt into a home. We expend considerable resources on animals with questionable behavior who come to us from our own communities that at this time we can't transfer more in.
