About Small Dog Rescue BC Society

Small Dog Rescue BC's mission is to place shelter and stray dogs, some that would otherwise be euthanized, into loving forever homes, to educate the public about the need for spay/neuter, and to help re-home owner surrendered dogs in Vancouver and the surrounding area.We are a small foster based rescue based in Langley BC. Since 2011, we have placed 400 dogs into their new homes. We offer a sleepover period to make sure your new family member will be the best possible match. All our dogs have been vet checked, had their shots, been altered, microchipped and had further medical care when needed. This year after visiting Northern Manitoba with a Winnipeg rescue we have also added sponsoring spay surgeries for dogs in remote communities in that province to help with keeping unwanted dog populations down.

Please see the guidelines for working with our organization below.

Dogs coming to our rescue must be in foster homes in California prior to coming to British Columbia. Fosters must be prepared to take the dogs in for vetting (shots, possible spay/neuter, health check etc) prior to transporting. Our rescue pays all the costs associated with vetting prior to transport. Fosters must be available to drop off the dogs on transport day.
