Amelia Air

Amelia Air is a fiscally sponsored 501(c)3 capable organization that transports animals via airplane in larger numbers within 1-2 hours flying from Washington DC. We're based in Leesburg VA, and fly to NC, SC and GA to pick up animals, and deliver them to DC, PA, NJ, NY or CT. We need to keep our flight costs to $100/animal, so the more animals we can get into the crates, the farther we can fly. If you have numerous litters of kittens or puppies that can fit into crates together - we can transport them quite a ways. For single medium sized animals that require a single crate each, we can fly shorter legs.

We're a new organization with our first rescue flight in August of 10 animals from Wilson NC to Lumberton NJ and Chester County PA. We feel good about the mission, and have received some great funding to kick-start the flights but we're getting organized slowly with volunteers to help with logistics, promotion, fundraising and help in the flights.
