About Acadiana Animal Aid

Acadiana Animal Aid (AAA), a non-profit shelter in Carencro, LA, is one of the largest and most impactful animal welfare organizations in the Acadiana region. Known for our robust and highly successful transport program, our organization saved nearly 2,700 shelter pets in 2018– 71% via transport. AAA primarily pulls animals at risk of euthanasia from over 20 municipal shelters throughout the state, however we take a small percentage of owner surrenders and strays from our community.

Please see the guidelines for working with our organization below.

All of our shelter pets are spayed and neutered prior to transport and receive a health certificate from our Shelter Veterinarian. We would want to ensure if our pets were traveling with any other animals their health was guaranteed and health certificates were issued. We would also want to hear from transporters along the way to ensure the journey was being made safely and to also know how are pets were fairing. This could be done via email or text.
