Prairies Sphynx Rescue

We are a small breed specific rescue, based out of the Canadian Prairies. We started in Saskatoon and now operate out of Saskatoon and Calgary. Over the past 4 years, we have taken in over 35 cats. We do occasionally take in a Devon or Cornish Rex, as they are frequently crossed with Sphynx, but primarily our rescues are sphynx. We have had cats from as far away as Newfoundland come to us, as we are the only Canadian Sphynx Rescue and one of the few in North America. Sphynx are a very unique breed and do not fit in well at shelters. Many standard cat rescues prefer not to take Sphynx in, due to their unique needs.

We try to be very flexible about transport. Sphynx do not do well with cold as they are hairless, so should be transported in a warm environment, such as in a heated vehicle or in cabin. They are also very susceptible to stress induced illness, so calm is the key.
