Silver Comet Animal Welfare Alliance

Silver Comet Animal Welfare Alliance (SCAWA) was founded in 2018 to provide advocacy, support and resources for shelters and independent rescues in west Georgia. Our mission is to bring the No Kill message and tools to underserved areas with a goal to join national organizations in making the entire US No Kill by 2025. Our motto is simple…compassion, cooperation, commUNITY.

SCAWA has a primary focus on west Georgia but will assist shelters and rescues throughout metro Atlanta. In the past, we have provided transport assistance to/from areas in south Georgia, the Carolinas and have partnered with long-haul transports into New England. SCAWA volunteers are flexible and can generally respond with little advance notice. Sending & Receiving organizations must provide pull authorizations but we may be able to coordinate administrative requirements.
