About West Valley Humane Society (WVHS)

West Valley Humane Society is a private, open admission animal shelter that was founded in 2011 and serves over 8,500 animals in Canyon County, Idaho annually. Located at 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell, Idaho the shelter cares for a wide variety of domestic animals with the mission to reunite animals with their families and to pave the way for the next generation through public outreach, promotion of the human-animal bond, community engagement and humane education. West Valley Humane Society is a private, charitable, nonprofit Idaho 501(c)(3) Corporation that relies heavily on the support of the community through volunteer service and donations.

Please see the guidelines for working with our organization below.

Animals coming to WVHS must have current vaccinations. We require that canines from heartworm prevalent states be heartworm tested and negative or under treatment, and juveniles receive a minimum of one dose of heartworm preventative. All incoming animals must have a veterinary examination and a signed health certificate, if coming from out of state. We require full health disclosure on animals that are accepted at WVHS, as well as bite history disclosure.
