As a no-kill facility, we work in partnership with our community to create an environment where all animals are treated with compassion and respect. We are one of the largest no-kill shelters in the Southeast and one of the largest low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinics in South Carolina.

We can take puppies and small dogs. We can take large dogs when we have room available to house them. We can also take moms with nursing puppies/kittens. when we have room available in our nursery. REQUIREMENTS OF ANIMALS BEING TRANSFERRED TO THE GREENVILLE HUMANE SOCIETY: 1. Canines over the age of 6 months must have a negative heartworm test 2. All animals must be friendly and easily handled regardless of age. 3. Dogs over 6 months must be dog friendly. ANIMALS THAT CANNOT BE ACCEPTED FOR TRANSFER INTO THE GREENVILLE HUMANE SOCIETY: 1. Sick (URI or Kennel Cough) ANY SIGNS OF SICKNESS WILL BE TURNED AWAY. (on occasion we will be able to take animals with sickness depending on room in our isolation wards) 2. Injured / Disabled (old healed injuries not to be considered.) 3. History or report of unprovoked aggression or biting. Any animals showing aggression or extreme fear. 4. Animals with congenital conditions requiring special treatment or medications. Exempt: Cherry eyes exempted. Umbilical hernias are also exempted. 5. Heartworm positive dogs. ( we can accept HW positive dogs on occasion) 6. Feline Leukemia/FIV positive cats. 7. Hair loss suspected of being ringworm or scabies. Animals with scabies are extremely itchy with generalized hair loss especially on the ear pinnae, hocks and elbows. WE CANNOT TAKE ANIMALS WITH SCABIES OR RINGWORM. 8. Animals over the age of 7. (7-10 with bloodwork approved by our medical director) 10. Wolf hybrids 11. Animals with severe dental tartar.
