SPCA Serving Erie County

About SPCA Serving Erie County
Private, open admission SPCA in the very fortunate position of being able to transport animals in from other areas as well as supporting all of those in our own community. We are a 501(c)3 and just celebrated our 150th anniversary! We primarily transport dogs but can take cats when space allows as well as rabbits and other small mammals, birds and reptiles.
Please see the guidelines for working with our organization below.
Following best practices, we require all animals to travel in crates on transports. If there are more than 4 animals and/or traveling more than 4 hours, we also require two people be in the vehicle. New York State Ag& Markets does not allow the transport of Heartworm positive dogs into the state at this time. Dogs should come from shelters/organizations that vaccinate on intake for at least Dhpp and have appropriate disinfection and disease management protocols. All animals transported from outside NY state will be required to have an interstate Health Certificate and current rabies vaccine from a Veterinarian at or working with the source agency. Drivers must have a valid drivers license.
