Rockingham County Animal Shelter

About Rockingham County Animal Shelter
The Rockingham County Animal Shelter is a County run animal shelter, that receives over 5,000 animal a year. Animals are surrendered by their owners, brought in by Animal Control and strays that are dropped off by the public.
Please see the guidelines for working with our organization below.
We transfer animals to 501c3 organizations and charge a $20 pull fee for dogs which covers the heartworm test, DA2PP, bordatella and rabies vaccine, and health certificate if needed. The transporter that is coming to the shelter must show us their driver's licence so we may have a copy on file. Most of our shelter's yearly population is cats so there is no charge to pull cats from our shelter unless they are already spayed or neutered then there is a $20 pull fee associated with the transfer. Cats are tested for Felv and FIV, receive their FVRCP vaccination along with their rabies vaccine.
