Meet Penny! Penny is an approximately 8 year old miniature bull terrier who came in as a stray. We believe she has spent most of her life in a backyard. she came in dirty, underweight, and needing some attention to get her 'looks' in tip-top shape. Though Penny started her stay here very shy and fearful of staff, after a few days of regular walks, she learned that we are her key to freedom. She now greets us at the kennel door & walks right into her slip lead ready to pull us down the path. She has an easy pace & seems like she could go on an adventure for days. She is highly motivated by her walkies! She is a petite girl and all BT! She has a strong personality - with Penny no means no & this way means WE'RE GOING THIS WAY! Unfortunately, Penny has been very stressed in the shelter environment. She does not show well in meet n greets as she needs time to warm up to a person before going home. She needs out of the shelter now. We strongly believe that she will blossom with the right bull terrier experienced person! She has her favorite humans at the shelter and is opening up to anyone willing to spend real, quality time with her. She solicits petting, rolls on her back for belly rubs, and allows handling of all body parts nicely once you're in her 'inner circle'. We have a wonderful bull terrier rescue interested in her in Colorado so we are desperate to find transport to a place we know her confidence can grow. Penny is spayed and otherwise healthy.
